Reading status variables
All status variables are in Gen4’s object dictionary. They can be accessed using SDOs. Some
can be mapped to PDOs for continuous transmission to remote nodes such as displays and
logging devices.
Motor measurements
The following status objects can be read:
Motor slip frequency, currents, voltages and temperature at object 4600
h
.
Additional motor debug information is available at 4602
h
.
Motor torque, speed, etc. at objects 6000
h
to 67FF
h
.
Heatsink temperature
Read the heatsink temperature at object 5100
h
, sub-index 3.
Identification and version
Read identification and version information at:
1008
h
– Controller name.
1009
h
– Hardware version.
100A
h
– Software version.
1018
h
– Identity object. Contains CANopen vendor ID, product code, CANopen protocol
revision, and controller serial number.
5500
h
– NVM (EEPROM) format.
5501
h
– Internal ROM checksum.
Battery monitoring
The controller measures actual battery voltage at two points:
Battery voltage; measured at keyswitch input and read at 5100
h
sub-index 1.
Capacitor voltage; measured at the B+ terminal and read at 5100
h
sub-index 2.
The controller also has a battery discharge indicator (BDI), which can be read at 2790
h
.
