3.4.4 SIP Addresses and Ports
3.4.4.1 SIP Addresses
In this group of parameters, the IP addresses or host names for the SIP server, the SIP regis-
trar, and the SIP gateway are defined.
SIP server addressgives the IP address or host name of the SIP proxy server (Hipath 8000).
This is necessary for outgoing calls. SIP registrar address contains the IP address or host
name of the registration server, to which the phone will send REGISTER messages. When reg-
istered, the phone is ready to receive incoming calls. SIP gateway address gives the IP ad-
dress or host name of the SIP gateway, e. g. a hardware box. The SIP gateway performs a con-
version of SIP to TDM, which enables to phone directly into the public network.
Data required
• SIP server address: IP address or host name of the SIP proxy server.
• SIP registrar address: IP address or host name of the registration server.
• SIP gateway address: IP address or host name of the SIP gateway.
