6 SW installation
NK8000 software installation includes the following:
– Composer and related tolls for system configuration
– NK822x: DMS8000 MP3.20 product setup
– Additional tools: NW8202 / NW8204
This section lists the hardware and software requirements for the NW8202 and
NW8204 tools, and details how to install them.
Note: The installation CDs include separate set-ups for the NW8202 and NW8204.
6.1 NW8202 IP configuration download tool
The NW8202 is used to download the IP configuration data to the target NK822x
units. The NW8202 Tool allows a unique IP configuration to be assigned to the
NK822x(s).
NW8202 should be installed on the PC used to send the IP configuration to the
NK822xs prior to shipment, or remotely after shipment (usually the Technician’s
PC).
NW8202 V2.00-00 is only compatible with NK822x NK8000 MP3.x
6.1.1 NW8202 hardware requirements
Pentium-class PC hardware, Windows 2000/XP Professional compatible
Ethernet network interface adapter (IEEE 802.3, 10Base-T or 100Base-TX)
10 MB Free Disk Space
128 MB RAM (recommended)
6.1.2 NW8202 software requirements
Windows operating system
Network Configuration including TCP/IP protocol
6.1.3 NW8202 installation
You can install the NW8202 tool when you install the DMS. You can also install it
separately on a different PC (such as a service PC) at a later time. If you are in-
stalling MK8000, you launch NW8202 by selecting the NW8202.exe file from the
following directory:
<InstallationDir>\Utilities\NW8202
For separate installation on a service PC, do the following:
1. Logon to computer as Administrator (for details ask client’s network administra-
tor).
2. Insert the Installation CD.
3. Select the NK8000 - Support Tools folder.
4. Select NW8202.exe.
Install Shield Wizard opens.
5. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard.
