9.2 The NK8000 Web Server tool
As described in the beginning of section 9, the NK8000 Web Server tool provides
an NS8210 diagnostic utility in addition to the NW8204 tool. The NS8210 provides
NK822x branch status information, and also a context command menu for each
NK822x branch upon selection. It communicates to the NK822xs via TCP/IP using
either CMSDL or CEI protocol.
To the end user, the NS8210 appears to function in the same way as the NW8204
tool. Both tools, however, communicate to the NK822xs differently. Thus the
NK8000 Web Server tool provides an additional communication layer in the event
of NW8204 communication failure.
Note: The Web Server tool is available for NK8225 only if an NS8210 driver is
installed.
9.2.1 Launching the NK8000 Web Server
Preparation:
To access the NK8000 Web Server application, you need to satisfy the following
software requirements:
– Windows 2000 Professional or higher
– Internet Information Services utility installed
Internet Information Services (IIS) is not installed on Windows 2000 Professional
by default. To install IIS, do the following:

1. Select Startup Control Panel Add/Remove Programs Add/Remove
Windows Components.
2. Check the IIS box.
Note: This utility is already installed if box is checked. If so, skip to “Launching”
next page.
