IPC Wizard functions
5.5.1
With the SIMATIC IPC Wizard, you install the following software and drivers with extended
functions for the devices:
● Panel PC Tools
– SetBrightness
– BbcScreenSaver
Brightness value of 0% not permitted
For SetBrightness and BbcScreenSaver, the "Turn off display" function has not been
approved for devices with capacitive multi-touch screens by setting the brightness value
to "0%".
● For devices with resistive single touch screen: UPDD (Universal Pointing Device Driver,
see following section) with the following features
– Advanced touch features
– Calibrating
● Calibration is not necessary for devices with capacitive multi-touch screen. Depending on
your operating system, you may be able calibrate the touch screen through the operating
system, although it will not improve the accuracy.
All other functions are described in the SIMATIC IPC Wizard Operating Manual. You will find
the operating manual:
● On the "Documentation and Drivers" CD/DVD included in the delivery
● In the IPC Wizard installation directory on the PC

5.5.2.1
Calibrating the touch screen
The touch screen of the device is pre-calibrated (3-point calibration) in the delivery state. The
following two calibration types are available to recalibrate the touch screen:
● Standard 3-point calibration:
The calibration data are stored in the EEPROM on the device.
● Advanced calibration with up to 25 calibration points, recommended if there are special
requirements for accuracy:
The calibration data are stored in the registry of the operating system on the PC.
