The following section contains concise descriptions of the configuring steps for the three
operating modes of the PN/CAN LINK:
• CANopen Manager
• CANopen Slave
• CAN transparent
The descriptions are not based on any specific example configuration. They are intended to
illustrate the basic method for configuring the PN/CAN LINK and provide a quick introduction
to configuring the PN/CAN LINK.
The figures refer to TIA Portal V17.
Firmware version V2.0 supports new functions that are made available with the following
Hardware Support Package (HSP): HSP_V17_0358_001_Link_PN_CAN_V2.0
(HSP_V17_0358_001_Link_PN_CAN_2.0.isp17)
To work with firmware version V2.0, you must use the
HSP_V17_0358_001_Link_PN_CAN_V2.0. You can also configure the PN/CAN LINK with
firmware version V1.0 via this HSP.
The HSP_V17_0358_001_Link_PN_CAN_V2.0 is only available for the TIA Portal version V17.
The new functions mainly refer to using the CANopen Manager mode.
Note
TIA Portal Openness
The PN/CAN LINK supports only mandatory attributes in TIA Portal Openness.
When selecting the PN/CAN LINK, you can choose the desired firmware version in the HW
catalog.
