2. Connect the device in accordance with the selected type of protection.
3. In order to avoid incorrect use at a later point, make the types of protection that are not used
permanently unrecognizable on the nameplate.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
You can use this device in industrial environments, households and small businesses.
For metal housings there is an increased electromagnetic compatibility compared to high-
frequency radiation. This protection can be increased by grounding the housing, see Basic
safety notes (Page 29).

Improvement of interference immunity
● Lay signal cables separate from cables with voltages > 60 V.
● Use cables with twisted wires.
● Keep device and cables at a distance from strong electromagnetic fields.
● Take account of the conditions for communication specified in the Bus communication
(Page 57).
● Use shielded cables to guarantee the full specification according to HART/PA/FF/Modbus/
EIA-485/Profibus DP.
