3.1 Si-Ware Communications Setup
The following section provides basic instructions for setting up the communication protocols
for both Si-Ware and Siemens SITRANS F flowmeters.
1. At the Si-Ware Menu bar, use the mouse to point to the [Setup] function. Click the left
mouse button once to select [Setup] and then again to select [Communications].

The example belo
w is for the most common mode of local communications with the
flowmeter using an available PC COM port and serial RS-232 cable. The COM port
settings shown represent typical settings for a Siemens SITRANS F 1010 family
flowmeter. In the event that Si-Ware is unable to establish communications with these
COM port settings, please verify the corresponding RS-232 settings at the flowmeter.
2. The [Communications Setup] screen will appear. Set the communications protocol data
as shown below and click [OK].
