3.3.1. Event Files (.log)
During monitoring, event files are always written with information about
the system (not only errors). This information can be used for
troubleshooting in case of problems. These files are sent to the data server
and can be read using an ordinary text editor (e.g. Notepad)
Example of events found in the log files:
• Monitoring start.
• Transient peak values.
• Errors during file transfer.
• Monitoring stop.
• GSM connection information (SIM ID, signal strength, errors etc.).
• Low battery voltage warning.
• Low on free memory warning.
During further development of the system, more event types may be
added.
3.3.2. Interval Files (.interval)
Interval files contain data samples, which represent a time interval. C12
stores the maximum value during the interval time (e.g. two minutes). The
interval time for the C12 is adjustable.
The interval files also contain important additional parameters for
traceability and post processing purposes:
• Time of measurement/interval.
• Node identity (e.g. C12V).
• Calibration data.
• Measurement standard.
• Data quantity (e.g. velocity).
• Data unit (e.g. mm/s).
• Presentation control (resolution, no. of significant digits).
• Monitoring start/stop flags.
• Overload flags.
