3.3.3. Transient Files (.transient)
A transient file is generated when the system is triggered. The length of
the transient is adjustable and set up before monitoring is started.
The transient file data is stored in a binary format. The file header
includes full information about the sensor element, internal electronics,
measurement standard used etc. This method enables more advanced post
processing.
A transient file always has a frequency range of 0.5 - 500Hz
(-0.5 dB at 630Hz; -3 dB at 665Hz).
During normal presentation, the post processing software applies the same
measurement standard filtering which was used for the interval values and
the trigger detector at the recording time. However, the operator can also
override the default setting and apply other measurement standard’s
filtering. The post processing Web application (INFRA Net) includes all
the measurement standard algorithms that the C12 uses. (It can also
include virtualstandards, which don’t exist in the C12, or standards
under development.)
