10.1 Preparing the cooking
process
1. Prepare the foods as described in the
recipe, and place them in the pot7.
Please take note of the chapter “Mark-
ings in the pot / filling volumes” on
page 58
and the information in chapter
“Individual cooking programs” on
page 63.
2. Wipe down the outside of the pot7 if
necessary. It must be clean and dry.
3. Place the pot7 into the base unit13.
4. Place the lid5 and lock it, such that the
arrow marking6 points to the marking

click audibly.
5. Close/open the pressure valve1 using
the pressure valve button 2.
- For pressure cooking, the pressure
valve1 must be closed.
- For cooking without pressure, the
pressure valve1 must be open.
6. Plug the mains power cable11 into the
port14 in the base unit13. Plug the
mains plug into a suitable wall earthed
wall socket. The wall socket must still be
easily accessible after the device is
plugged in.
7. As soon as the device is connected to
the power supply, the display29 will
show OFF. The device is in standby
mode.
10.2 Cooking times
Cooking times depend on the freshness and
quality of the food, the size of the pieces,
and personal preference (al dente or well
done).
To transfer the cooking times from conven-
tional recipes to cooking with the Multi-Pot,
apply the following rules of thumb:
- When cooking at high pressure (pres-
sure level High54), the cooking time is
reduced by approx. half.
Example:
A recipe calls for a cooking time of
90minutes. At pressure level High54,
for the Multi-Pot this means:
1/2 of 90 min. = 45 minutes.
- When cooking at low pressure (pressure
level Low56), the cooking time is re-
duced to approx. two thirds.
Example:
A recipe calls for a cooking time of
90minutes. At pressure level Low56,
for the Multi-Pot this means:
2/3 of 90 min. = 60 minutes.
- When cooking without pressure (pres-
sure valve1 open), the cooking time re-
mains the same.
NOTES:
• Further notes on cooking times can be
found in chapter “Individual cooking
programs” on page 63.
• If you use larger quantities than indicat-
ed in the cooking time tables, the cook-
ing times can be extended as required.
Normal household portions can gener-
ally be cooked without extension of the
cooking times.
