6.15 Limit LED indicator
The Limit LED on the front panel of the generator indicates that the generator is limited. In VC
and AdvOutC mode this means that the desired (set) high voltage value is not reached. In CC
and AdvCC mode the set current value is not attained.
6.16 Operating signal
The operating signal is used to indicate that the generator is supplying high voltage to the
output. However, as soon as the high voltage is limited and the limit LED illuminates, the
operating signal will also no longer be active. The conditions for the operating signal can be
found in Appendix IV.
6.17 Pin 9 output as Limit Alarm signal
When the desired (set) high voltage is not achieved (or the current in CC or AdvCC mode), this
is indicated by the limit LED on the generator. In parallel this output is also made active,
however, as long as this situation is detected.
Note:
Pin 9 can only be used as a Limit Alarm or Arc Detect message. However, the output can
also be switched off (see menu item 6670)
6.18 Pin 9 output as Arc Detect signal
The CM5 generator can pass on detected arcs directly via this output to the target system. This
output will be active for each detected arc. When the arc is rectified, this output signal will again
become inactive. This allows, for example, a counter to be controlled, counting the number of
arcs of the high voltage.
Note:
Pin 9 can only be used as a Limit Alarm or Arc Detect message. However, the output can
also be switched off (see menu item 6670)
6.19 "Correcting the "Too many ARCs error!”
When “Too many Arcs ERROR!” appears on the display, more than 10 arcs/min. have been
detected. The generator is protected and in this situation the high voltage switches off.
This error situation can be corrected by depressing the [ESC] key on the keyboard. If the
generator is operating in the external remote HV on/off mode, the error can also be corrected by
switching the high voltage off and then on again via the external switching signal. When using
the fieldbus communication, switching the high voltage off and on via the checking bit of the
data communication will also rectify the error situation.
