6.20 Switching arc detection protection on/off
If you do not want the high voltage of the generator to switch off on detection of too many arcs,
this option can be disabled. See menu option 6140.
6.21 Restoring the factory settings
A situation may occur where the user has changed the generator settings in such a way that it is
no longer clear how the generator is operating or, more seriously, in such a way that the
generator no longer functions at all. In such a situation it is possible to reset the generator back
to the factory settings.
To do this go to menu item 6820 and select the option “Restore factory settings: YES”. After a
short time the generator will start up again with the factory settings. In this case the generator
will once again run through the Quick Init menu in order to set the most used base settings (see
6.2 and 6.23). Other settings then need to be set via the menu (see 6.11 and 6.24).
Note:
During the resetting of the factory settings, the user password is NOT reset. In order to reset
the user password, the procedure in section 6.22 must be followed.
6.22 Restoring the user password
A situation may occur whereby the user password has been changed but this is unknown to the
user.
The CM5 allows the user password to be reset. Use the following procedure to do this.
1. Switch the generator off ([ 0 / l ] switch to the [ 0 ] position).
2. Simultaneously depress the [◄] and [►] keys.
3. Now switch the generator on ([ 0 / l ] switch to the [ I ] position).
4. The generator starts up and the following text is displayed again:
“Restore user password: NO”
Depress [
] / [ ] to change the text to “YES”. Now depress [ ].
5. The following text is displayed: “Factory password”. Using the [
] / [ ] and [◄] / [►] keys,
enter the factory password (this can be found on a loose sheet that is enclosed). Now
depress [ ].
6. The text “User password is restored.” appears on the display. After 1 second the
generator shows the main screen.
If desired the user password can now be set again.
