Your camera cannot record images.
• Check the free capacity of the internal memo U or 'Memory Stick Duo'_(page 21). If it is lllll,
do one of the 12allowing:
Delete unnecessa U images 1_ step 6 i_ "Read This First').
Change the "Memory Stick Duo".
• You are using the "Memory Stick Duo" with the write-protect switch, and the sx_itch is set to
the LOCK position. Set the switch to the recording position (page 93).
• Youcannot record images while charging the flash.
• Set the mode switch to nl when shooting still images.
• Set the mode switch to _ when shooting movies.
• The image size is sel to [641)(Fine)] when recording movies. Do one of the follox_ing:
Set the image size to other than [640(Fine)].
Insert a "Memo U Stick PRO Duo" (page 93).
The subject is not visible on the screen.
• Set the mode s_itch to a position other than [_ (page 24).
Recording takes a long time.
• The NR slow shutter function is actixated (page 17). This is not a malfunction.
The image is out of focus.
• The suh.ject is too close. Record in the close-up (Macro) recording mode. Make sure to
position the lens farther away from the subject than the shortest shooting distance,
approximately 8 cm (3 1/4 inches) (W)125cm (9 718 inches) (T), when shooting. Or, select
/O.] (Magnil)'ing glass mode) and focus from a distance of approx. 1cm to 20 cm (13132 inch
to 7 718inches) from the suhject I--_ swp 5 i1,1"Read Thia Fir,st').
• ,_O.,](Magnifying glass mode), ..) (Tx_ilight mode), [] (Landscape mode) or :2-_';_(Fireworks
mode) is selected in the Scene mode when shooting still images.
• The Focus preset l]mction is selected. Select the auto focus mode (page 30).
• Rel__,rto "If the subject is out of focus" on page 31.
Optical zoom does not work.
• Youcannot change the zoom scah: _hen shooting movies.
• Select a mode other than _O._ (Magnil)dng glass mode) when shooting still images.
Precision digital zoom does not function.
• Set [Digital Zoom] to [Precisionl (page 45).
• This function cannot be used while shooting movies.
