1.4 Rotation Definitions & Conventions
This instruction manual refers to relative rotational directions. The terms clockwise and anti-clockwise are
defined by looking down at the machine from above, with the tractor being at the front; see Figure 1.5. To
eliminate confusion the following definitions will be used throughout this operator’s manual.
In order to create a consistent and quality cut and through-flow of material through and out of the machine, the
machine has anti-clockwise and clockwise rotating rotors which are in turn fitted with left-hand (LH) and right-
hand (RH) blades. The rotation direction of each of the rotors is stated in Figure 1.5.

Additionally, other references to ‘clockwise’ and ‘anti-clockwise’ actions by the operator conform to international
right-hand thread conventions for ‘screw down’ and ‘un-screw’ respectively.
This convention also extends to the definition of PTO drive rotation from the prime mover, see Figure 1.6.
