CT Rated Meters
F.3.1.1 Form 3 Meters—The form 3 meter is a single phase meter that has 2
configurations: 2 wire and 3 wire. All Form 3 meters are CT rated and have 1 stator and
one current coil, so you can perform a CT ratio and burden test on these circuits as well as
the meter verify tests. You will use the voltage cable with red and white alligator clips (P1
port), (leave the black alligator clip unattached) and the duckbill connector for secondary
current (P2 port).
A Form 3-2 wire circuit is straightforward. Only one test is required to test this form meter:
Secondary Voltage Cable
o Red Alligator clip to voltage
o White alligator clip to neutral. This produces V

o Black alligator clip leave unconnected
Secondary Current Cable—Duckbill connector copper side up
A Form 3-3 wire is hooked up as follows. Only one test is required to test this form meter:

coils and 1 stator. It is a CT rated meter. Two tests are required to test this type of meter.
The hookup is as follows:
