  If your STA-RITE Water Pump experiences a failure, there might be an air leak in the suction. Inspect the suction piping and valve glands on any suction gate valves. Make sure the lid on the pump strainer pot is secure and the lid gasket is in place. Check the water level to ensure the skimmer isn't drawing air. Confirm that the suction lines, pump, strainer, and pump volute are full of water. Increase the prime sensitivity setting (the default is 1%). Clean the pump strainer pot and replace the gasket if needed. The cause might also be that there is not enough water.

  If your STA-RITE Water Pump trips and restarts constantly, first, bleed air from the filter and ensure no air bubbles are entering the pump pot. Then, use a vacuum gauge to check the pump port connection, ensuring the vacuum level is 25 inches of mercury or less. Clear any blockages, reduce the system flow, change the speed, and reduce water flow. For in-floor cleaning systems, ensure they are designed with balanced hydraulic losses on all legs. If priming is not enabled, enable it from the “PRIMING” menu. If issues are related to other equipment, such as Heat Pumps and Heaters with internal valves that vibrate, lowering the ramp speed below 200 RPM or adding external manual valve controls may resolve the issue.

  If your STA-RITE Water Pump experiences mechanical troubles and noise, it could be due to inadequately supported suction and discharge piping, straining the pump assembly. Ensure the pump is securely mounted on a concrete platform, not a wooden one, for quieter performance. Another reason might be foreign matter (gravel, metal, etc.) in the pump impeller. Disassemble the pump, clean the impeller, and follow the pump service instructions for reassembly. Cavitation can also cause noise. Improve suction conditions by increasing pipe size, decreasing the number of fittings, and increasing discharge pressure.

Another cause could be that the suction/discharge piping is too small; in that case, increase the piping size. Also, the speed might be set too slow for proper filtration; increase the filtration run time to resolve this.
