-Tightenscrewsto9.0Nm
(6.6lbf.ft).
Defectiveoilsealsandgasketsor
cracksincastingsaretheusual
causesofleaks.Suchfaultsallow
supplementaryairtoenterthe
engineandthusupsetthefuel-air
mixture.
Thismakesadjustmentofthe
prescribedidlespeeddifficult,if
notimpossible.
Moreover,thetransitionfromidle
speedtopartorfullthrottleisnot
smooth.
Thecrankcasecanbechecked
thoroughlyforleakswiththe
carburetorandcrankcasetester
andthevacuumpump.
-Removetheshroud-see4.1.
-Removethecarburetor-
see9.2.2.
-Setthepistontotopdeadcenter
(T.D.C.).Thiscanbechecked
throughtheinletport.
-Makesurethesparkplugis
properlytighteneddown.
