-Lubricatesealinglipsofoilseals
withgrease-see11.2.

Slidetheoilseals,opensides
facingtheballbearings,over
theendsofthecrankshaft.
-Thoroughlycleanthesealing
facesonthecrankcaseand
enginepantoremovealltraces
ofsealant.
•
Placecrankshaftinthecrank-
casesothattheconnectingrod
(1)pointstothecylinderside
andtheshortcrankshaftstub(2)
isatthewideside(arrow)ofthe
crankcase.

Applyathinbeadofsealantto
theenginepan’smatingface-
