n
Product-specific dangers of the 36.2-
kWh and 118.4-kWh lithium-ion battery
WARNING
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces!
The battery has an integrated brake
resistor that can heat up to over 100°C
during operation.
It can take several hours of cooling
down before a safe temperature is
reached.
– Do not touch the hot area (1).
WARNING
Risk of injury!
If the safety valve (2) trips, there is a risk of injury!
– Exit the area around the battery immediately,
retreating to a minimum distance of 5 m.
NOTE
The brake resistor (1) is installed differently
depending on the battery group. The build-up
of heat in the area around the brake resistor
is harmless. The safety valve (2) opens when
the battery is subjected to over pressure or it
catches fire.
All lithium-ion batteries are essentially associ-
ated with the risk of a fire starting, of the battery
exploding and of the battery causing chemical
burns.
When used as intended, no hazardous
substances escape from the closed tray and
contact with toxic substances will not occur.
There is a risk of contact only in the event of
incorrect use (mechanical, thermal, electrical)
that leads to activation of the safety valve (2)
or to the housing cracking. As a result, the
electrolyte fluid may leak out, the electrode
material may react with humidity/water,
or battery discharge/a fire/or an explosion
can occur, depending on the surrounding
circumstances.
Touching live components can lead to an
electric shock, which can have thermal or
paralysing effects. The latter can cause ven-
