4. Insert an expansion card into the riser slot of the M.2 carrier-and-riser card to create an
assembly (not shown).
5. Install the M.2 SSD, if necessary (not shown).
6. Align the assembly with SLOT2 on the motherboard and the PCI slot shield at the node
rear and insert the assembly into the motherboard.
7. Connect cables, if necessary.
8. Reinstall the expansion card screw, reinsert the node into the chassis, and power up the
system.
