Use this section to confi gure the privilege level of the user when accessing the
system or the Setup Utility.

Set Setup Administrator
Password.
Password Description
If ONLY the administrator’s password is set,
then this only limits access to Setup and is
only asked for when entering Setup.
If ONLY the User’s password is set, then this
is a power on password and must be entered to
boot or enter Setup. In Setup the User will
have Administrator rights.
The password must be 3 to 20 characters long.

Boot Sector Virus Protection [Disabled]
Administrator Password
If "Administrator Password" is selected for the system, the user can use an admin-
istrator password to enter the BIOS Setup Utility. No password will be needed for
the user to enter the system at bootup.
User Password
If "User Password" is selected for the system, a password is needed for a user to
enter the system and the BIOS Setup Utility at bootup. While in the BIOS Setup
Utility, the user is granted with "Administrator Rights" and is allowed to change
confi guration settings in the Setup Utility.
Boot Sector Virus Protection
If this feature is enabled, the AMI BIOS displays a warning when any program (or
virus) issues a Disk Format command or attempts to write to the boot sector of the
hard disk drive. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
