What to do if my Takagi T?K4?IN Water Heater does not ignite?
    • R
      Roy HillAug 15, 2025
If the unit does not ignite when water goes through your Takagi Water Heater, ensure the flow rate is over 0.75 GPM. Check the filter on the cold water inlet and inspect for reverse or cross-connections. If you're using a remote controller, verify that the power button is turned on. Also, check if the inlet temperature is too high.

What to do if hot water is not available from my Takagi T?K4?IN Water Heater?
    • N
      Nathan FarmerAug 18, 2025
If hot water is not available when you open a fixture with your Takagi Water Heater, ensure the unit has a 120 VAC / 60 Hz power supply. If you're using a remote controller, check if the power button is on. Also, make sure the gas and water supply valves are fully open. Check if the filter on the cold water inlet is clean and ensure the hot water fixture is sufficiently open to draw at least 0.75 GPM through the heater. Finally, verify the unit isn't frozen and, for propane models, that there's enough gas in the tank/cylinder.

Why does the hot water from my Takagi Water Heater turn cold and stay cold?
    • N
      nguyenalisonAug 22, 2025
If the hot water from your Takagi Water Heater turns cold and stays cold, ensure the flow rate is sufficient to keep the water heater running. If a recirculation system is installed, check that the recirculation line has enough check valves. Also, verify the gas supply valve is fully open and the filter on the cold water inlet is clean. Finally, make sure the fixtures are free of debris and obstructions, and check if the flow rate is too low.

If you experience fluctuation in hot water temperature with your Takagi Water Heater, start by checking if the filter on the cold water inlet is clean. Also, ensure the gas line is properly sized and the supply gas pressure is sufficient. Lastly, check for cross-connection between the cold and hot water lines.

What to do if Takagi T?K4?IN water is not hot enough?
    • C
      Cynthia RayAug 28, 2025
If the water from your Takagi Water Heater is not hot enough, compare the flow and temperature using the charts. Check for cross plumbing between the cold and hot water lines. Ensure the gas supply valve is fully open and that the gas line is properly sized. Verify the gas supply pressure is adequate and that the set temperature is not set too low.

How to decrease time to get hot water from Takagi T?K4?IN?
    • J
      James IngramSep 1, 2025
If your Takagi Water Heater takes a long time to deliver hot water to the fixtures, it depends on the length of piping between the water heater and your fixtures. The longer the distance or the bigger the pipes, the longer it will take to get hot water. If you would like to receive hot water to your fixtures quicker, you may want to consider a hot water recirculation system.

Why is the fan motor still spinning on my Takagi T?K4?IN after operation?
    • T
      Tammy CardenasSep 12, 2025
This is normal for Takagi Water Heater. After operation has stopped, the fan motor keeps running from 15 to 70 seconds in order to re-ignite quickly, as well as purge all the exhaust gas out of the flue.
