Suspends execution of
the
batch
file
and
lets you exit
the
batch
file or continue.
Parameters
message specifies a message to display. The message and s t r

• When MS-DOS encounters
the
PAUSE
command, while
run-
ning
a
batch
file,
it
stops
and
displays
the
message:
Strike
a
key
when
ready
...
At
this
time, you
can
press
the
space
bar
to continue execu-
tion, or you
can
press I
CTRL
I (]J to display:
Terminate
batch
job
(YIN)?
If
you press
Y,
execution ceases
and
control
returns
to MS-
DOS.
If
you press
N,
execution continues.
•
During
the
execution of
the
batch file, you
might
need to per-
form some action before executing
the
next command (change
diskettes or ready
the
printer,
for
example).
Whenever
this
is
the
case, include a
PAUSE
command where
necessary. For example, suppose you
want
to
list
two files
that
are
on different diskettes.
Create
a batch file
by
