Move Lines (M)

Moves all lines within the range line1 to line2 to a position
immediately preceding
line3. linel becomes the current line.
Use
the Move command to move a block of lines from one place
in the file to another.

• If you omit the line1 parameter or the line2 parameter,
EDLIN uses the current line.
• EDLIN renumbers the lines according to the direction of the
move. For example:
, + 25, 1 0 0M I ENTER I
moves the text from the current line + 25 to Line 100. If the
line numbers overlap, EDLIN displays the message

Example
To move Lines 20-30 to Line 100, type:
20 , 30 , 1 0 0M [ ENTER I
