What to do if TechnipFMC Measuring Instruments show underdelivery or over registration?
    • K
      kathrynwilliamsAug 5, 2025
If your TechnipFMC Measuring Instruments are showing underdelivery (or over registration), it might be due to deposits like wax. Try cleaning the affected parts. Another cause could be clogging of tube bundles, in which case you should remove and clean them. Bent blades can also cause this issue, so replace the rotor if necessary. Cavitation can also lead to underdelivery, so ensure higher back pressure. Entrained air or gas might be the culprit, so eliminate the source or add an air eliminator. Lastly, noise on the transmission line can cause this, so add or check the shielded cable, eliminate the source of noise, ensure the shield is grounded at the instrument end only, decrease sensitivity on the instrument front end, or add a suppression circuit to the preamplifier.

If your TechnipFMC Measuring Instruments are showing overdelivery (or under registration), it may be due to dirty or worn bearings. Clean or replace them accordingly. Corrosion or erosion could also be the cause; for minor cases, reprove the meter, but for extreme cases, replace the damaged parts. Bent or missing rotor blades require rotor replacement.

Why TechnipFMC Smith Meter Measuring Instruments show non-repeatability?
    • C
      Craig ShortAug 26, 2025
If your TechnipFMC Measuring Instruments are experiencing non-repeatability, potential causes include a damaged or missing blade (replace the rotor), damaged thrust washer (replace it), deposits on the bearings (clean or use slotted bearings), plugged stator fin holes (clean them), problems with the prover (check prover operation), or leaks in the system (check the system for leaks).
