What to do if my THOMSON TSC 7320 Controller will not transfer to generator source upon failure of utility source?
    • A
      Anthony WattsAug 3, 2025
If the Thomson Controller doesn't transfer to the generator upon utility failure, several factors could be at play. * First, check if the warm-up time delay function has timed out by verifying the TSC 7320 timer setting. * Ensure the generator set output circuit breaker is closed. * Confirm the generator's voltage and frequency levels are correct and match the TSC 7320 settings. * Also, verify the phase rotation and check all TSC 7320 connectors, especially the generator voltage sensing connection plug. If the issue persists, there may be a ‘Transfer Fail’ alarm activated, a defective ATS mechanism motor, a loose control wire connection, or a defective TSC 7320 controller.

What to do if my THOMSON Controller will not re-transfer to utility source upon restoration?
    • Y
      Yesenia BrownAug 7, 2025
If your Thomson Controller isn't re-transferring to the utility source after power restoration, there are a few things to check. First, make sure the generator side auxiliary switch (G-AUX) n/c contact is closed and has low resistance when the generator switching device is open. Also, check if the TSC 7320 auxiliary switch Digital input for Gen Power Switching Device is Open has been activated. For Service Entrance Rated ATS, ensure the Service Disconnect switch is in the “Energized” or “Transfer to Neutral” position, and the Utility Voltage Disconnect switch inside the ATS is switched to the “On” position.

What to do if power is not available at the load terminals on my THOMSON TSC 7320 Controller?
    • B
      Benjamin VaughnAug 16, 2025
If power isn't available at the load terminals of your Thomson Controller, even when the utility or generator power switching device appears closed, it could be due to a few reasons. The utility or generator power switching device might have tripped open due to an over current condition, so determine the cause of the alarm and rectify it before resetting the TSC 7320. Alternatively, the mechanism might have failed to fully operate the power switching device toggle, or there could be a power switching device aux contact failure. For the latter two, contact Thomson Power system for adjustment procedure or replacement of aux contacts.

Why is the motor overheated in my THOMSON TSC 7320 Controller transfer switch?
    • S
      Shannon MartinAug 20, 2025
If the transfer switch in your Thomson Controller has completed a transfer, but the motor has overheated, it may be due to aux contact failure or improper adjustment. Contact Thomson Power system for adjustment procedure or replacement of aux contacts.

How to fix no time delay when there should be on THOMSON TSC 7320 Controller?
    • A
      Alicia KeithAug 25, 2025
If there's no time delay when there should be in your Thomson Controller, it's likely due to an incorrect TSC 7320 time delay setting. Verify the TSC 7320 timer setting.

What to do if my THOMSON TSC 7320 Controller is not powered from 24Vdc aux supply?
    • K
      Kevin GoodwinAug 29, 2025
The Thomson TSC 7320 controller requires a constant 24Vdc auxiliary power supply. Ensure the low power buffer module is providing the correct 24Vdc supply to the TSC 7320 controller.
  • M
    Michael BellNov 10, 2025
Why is there a Utility Return Time (mains transient) delay with my THOMSON TSC 7320?
    • M
      Monique BellNov 10, 2025
A Utility Return Time delay in your Thomson Controller can occur due to several reasons. It might be because the TSC 7320 time delay setting period hasn't expired yet, so verify the TSC 7320 time delay setting. A Load Test or Exercise Test mode could be active; check the TSC 7320 status screen and LED indicators. Also, the utility supply might not be operating at the correct voltage or frequency levels, or the TSC 7320 might have incorrect utility voltage or frequency settings. Other potential causes include mismatched utility phase rotation, unplugged TSC 7320 voltage sensing connection plugs or ATS Power Chassis & Voltage Sensing Isolation Plugs, a 'Transfer Fail' alarm, a defective utility power switching unit close coil or generator power switching unit trip coil, a defective ATS mecha...
