Opening the Engine Guard
Rotate the engine guard forward as shown in Figure
34 .

Greasing the Machine
Grease with No. 2 lithium or molybdenum grease.
1. Disengage the PT O and set the parking brake.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. Clean the grease ttings with a rag.
Note: Make sure to scrape any paint of f the
front of the tting(s).
4. Connect a grease gun to the tting.
5. Pump grease into the ttings until grease begins
to ooze out of the bearings.
6. Wipe up any excess grease.
Greasing the T orsion Idler
Service Interval : Y early
Important: Use only high-temperature grease.
Do not use general-purpose grease.
1. Open the engine guard; refer to Opening the
Engine Guard ( page 29 ) .
2. Grease the torsion idler on the mower deck
using high-temperature grease at the grease
tting shown in Figure 35 .
