Replacing the T ransmission
Belt
Service Interval : Every 1,000 hours —Replace the
transmission belt.
1. Remove the fuel tank; refer to Removing the
Fuel T ank ( page 36 ) .
2. Remove the hydraulic-reservoir cap.
3. Locate the drain plugs in the bottom of the
transmission and place a drain pan under the
plug ( Figure 67 ).

4. Allow the hydraulic uid to drain from the
machine.
5. Remove the lower hydraulic hose ( Figure 68 ).

6. Remove the tension spring ( Figure 68 ).
CAUTION
The spring is under tension when
installed and can cause personal injury .
W ear safety glasses and be careful when
removing the spring.
7. Remove the deck belt from the clutch and clutch
stop ( Figure 66 ).
8. Install the new belt.
9. Install the tension spring and lower hydraulic
hose.
10. Install the drain plugs and torque to 22 to 27
N∙m (16 to 20 ft-lb).
1 1. Add hydraulic uid to the ll level.
12. Install the hydraulic-reservoir cap.
13. Run the machine for 10 minutes and verify that
the hydraulic uid is at the correct level.
