Hydraulic System Safety
• Seek immediate medical attention if uid is injected
into skin. Injected uid must be surgically removed
within a few hours by a doctor .
• Ensure that all hydraulic-uid hoses and lines are
in good condition and all hydraulic connections
and ttings are tight before applying pressure to
the hydraulic system.
• Keep your body and hands away from pinhole
leaks or nozzles that eject high-pressure hydraulic
uid.
• Use cardboard or paper to nd hydraulic leaks.
• Safely relieve all pressure in the hydraulic system
before performing any work on the hydraulic
system.

Important: Use the uid specied. Other uids
could damage the system.
Checking the Hydraulic
Fluid
Service Interval : After the rst 8 hours
Every 50 hours
Note: Check the hydraulic-uid level when the uid
is cold.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the PT O, and engage the parking brake.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. W ait for the machine to cool.
4. Clean the area around the cap and the ller neck
of the hydraulic tank ( Figure 71 ).

5. Remove the cap from the ller neck ( Figure 71 ).
Note: Look inside to check the uid level in
the reservoir .
6. Add uid to the reservoir until it reaches the
reaches the minimum cold ll level.
7. Install the cap on the ller neck.
Replacing the Hydraulic
Fluid and Filters
Service Interval : After the rst 50 hours
Every 500 hours/Y early (whichever comes
rst) —Change the hydraulic lters and hydraulic
uid.
Change the hydraulic uid more frequently in severe
conditions or in a hot operating climate. Contact
your Authorized Service Dealer for a hydraulic kit to
replace the hydraulic lters.
W ARNING
Hot hydraulic uid can cause severe burns.
Allow the hydraulic uid to cool before
performing any maintenance on the hydraulic
system.

3. Remove the fuel tank; refer to Removing the
Fuel T ank ( page 36 ) .
