parking-braketab(Figure11)tolockthebrakes.Disengage
thetabbypressingthebrakepedal.Locktheparkingbrake
beforeyouleavethemachine.

TractionPedal
Thetractionpedal(Figure11)has3functions:tomakethe
machinemoveforward,tomoveitbackward,andtostopthe
machine.Pressthetopofthepedaltomoveforwardandthe
bottomofthepedaltomovebackwardortoassistinstopping
whenmovingforward.Also,allowthepedaltomovetothe
NEUTRALpositiontostopthemachine.Donotresttheheel
ofyourfootonreversewhenoperatingforward(Figure12).

ThrottleLever
Thethrottlelever(Figure13)givestheoperatortheabilityto
controlthespeedoftheengine.Movingthethrottlelever
towardtheFASTpositionincreasestheenginespeed;moving
thethrottlelevertowardtheSLOWpositionwilldecreasethe
enginespeed,butwillnotstoptheengine.

Tostartacoldengine,closethecarburetorchokebymoving
thechokecontrol(Figure13)forwardtotheCLOSED
position.Aftertheenginestarts,regulatethechoketokeep
theenginerunningsmoothly.Assoonaspossible,openthe
chokebypullingitrearwardtotheOPENposition.Awarm
enginerequireslittleornochoking.
Leak-DetectorTestSwitch
Usetheswitch(Figure13)tochecktheoperationoftheleak
detectoralarmandtimedelay.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(locatedontheleftcontrolpanel)indicates
thetotalhoursthemachinehasoperated.Itstartstofunction
wheneverthekeyswitchisrotatedtoOn.
