KeeptheROPSinsafeoperatingconditionbythoroughly
inspectingitperiodicallyfordamageandkeepingallthe
mountingfastenerstight.
ReplaceadamagedROPS.Donotrepairoralterit.
MachineswithaFoldableRollBar
Alwaysusetheseatbeltwiththerollbarintheraised
position.
TheROPSisanintegralsafetydevice.Keepafoldingroll
barintheraisedandlockedposition,andusetheseat
beltwhenoperatingthemachinewiththerollbarinthe
raisedposition.
Lowerafoldingrollbartemporarilyonlywhennecessary.
Donotweartheseatbeltwhentherollbarisfolded
down.
Beawarethatthereisnorolloverprotectionwhena
foldedrollbarisinthedownposition.
Checktheareathatyouwillbemowingandneverfold
downafoldingrollbarinareaswherethereareslopes,
drop-offs,orwater.
SlopeSafety
Slowdownthemachineanduseextracareonhillsides.
Travelupanddownonhillsides.Turfconditionscan
affectthestabilityofthemachine.
Avoidturningthemachineonslopes.Ifyoumustturnthe
machine,turnitslowlyandgraduallydownhill,ifpossible.
Donotturnthemachinesharply.Usecarewhenreversing
themachine.
Useextracarewhileoperatingthemachinewith
attachments;theycanaffectthestabilityofthemachine.
StartingandShuttingOffthe
Engine
Important:Youmustbleedthefuelsystembefore
startingtheengineifyouarestartingtheengineforthe
rsttime,theenginehasshutoffduetolackoffuel,or
youhaveperformedmaintenanceonthefuelsystem;
refertoBleedingtheFuelSystem(page35).

Beforestartingtheenginecheckthat:

Theareaisclearofbystanders.
Thecuttingunitdriveisdisengaged.
Theparkingbrakeisengaged.
Thetravelcontrolpedalsareinneutral.
Important:Thismachineisttedwithanengine-start
lockout,refertoUnderstandingtheOperator-Presence
Control(page21).
StartingaColdEngine
1.Sitintheseat,keepyourfootoffthetractionpedalsto
ensuretheyareintheNEUTRALposition,engagethe
parkingbrake,andsetthethrottletothe70percent
fullthrottleposition.
2.TurntheignitionkeytotheONposition(I)andcheck
thattheengineoilpressureandbattery-charge-warning
lightsilluminate.
3.TurntheignitionkeytothePREHEATposition(II)and
ensurethepre-heatindicatorlightison.Holditfor5
secondstoheattheglowplugs.
4.Afterpreheatingtheglowplugs,turnkeytotheSTART
position(III)andholdittostarttheengine.
Note:Cranktheenginefornolongerthan15seconds.
5.ReleasetheignitionkeybacktotheONposition(I)
whentheenginestarts.
6.Runtheengineatlowidlespeeduntilitwarmsup.
