Youmustbleedthefuelsystembeforestartingtheengineif
anyofthefollowingsituationshaveoccurred:
•Initialstartupofanewmachine.
•Enginehasceasedrunningduetolackoffuel.
•Maintenancehasbeenperformeduponfuelsystem
components;i.e.,lterisreplaced,separatorisserviced,
etc.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandensurethatthe
fueltankisatleasthalffull.
2.Openthehood.
3.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheONposition
andcranktheengine.
Note:Themechanicalpumpsucksfueloutofthe
tank,llsthefuellterandfuelhose,andforcesthe
airintotheengine.Fullypurgealltheairoutofthe
system;theenginemightreerraticallyuntilallairis
purgedout.Whenalltheairispurgedandtheengine
isrunningsmoothly,runtheengineforafewminutes
toensurethattheairisfullypurged.

Beforestorage
Drainandcleanthefueltankifthefuelsystembecomes
contaminatedorifthemachineistobestoredforanextended
period.Usecleanfueltoushoutthetank.

Checkthefuellinesandconnections.Inspectthemfor
deterioration,damage,orlooseconnections.
