3. After the radiator is thoroughly cleaned, clean
out debris that ma y ha v e collected in the
c hannel at the radiator base .
4. Close the hood.

Adjusting the Parking Brake
Interlock Switch
1. Stop the mac hine , mo v e the control lev ers
fully into the neutral-loc k ed position, set the
parking brak e , and remo v e the ignition k ey .
2. R emo v e the bolts securing the front panel and
remo v e the panel ( Figure 54 ).

3. Loosen the 2 screws securing the interloc k
switc h.

4. 0.015 to 0.045 inch (0.4 to
1 mm)
4. Mo v e the switc h to w ard the tab on the brak e
shaft until the distance betw een the tab and
switc h body is 0.015 to 0.045 inc h (0.4 to
1 mm) ( Figure 55 ).
5. Secure the switc h.
6. T est the adjustment as follo ws:
A. Ensure that the parking brak e is eng ag ed
and y ou are not sitting on the seat, then
star t the engine .
B . Mo v e the control lev ers out of the neutral
loc k ed position.
T he engine should stop . If not, rec hec k the
adjustment y ou made to the switc h.
7. Install the front panel.

Belt
Chec k tension of alter nator belt ( Figure 56 ) after
ev er y 200 operating hours .
1. Apply 10 lb of force to the alter nator belt,
midw a y betw een the pulleys .
2. If the deflection is not 3/8 in. (10 mm), loosen
the alter nator mounting bolts .
