5.Fillthecrankcasewiththepropertypeofnewoil.
6.Startandruntheenginetocheckforleaks.
7.Stoptheengineandchecktheoillevel.Addoilif
necessary.
ServicingtheSparkPlugs
Replacethesparkplugsafterevery800operatinghours
oryearly,whicheveroccursrst,toensureproperengine
performanceandreducetheexhaustemissionlevel.

AirGap:0.030inch(0.762mm)
Note:Thesparkplugsusuallylastalongtime;however,
theplugsshouldberemovedandcheckedwheneverthe
enginemalfunctions.
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugssothatforeign
mattercannotfallintothecylinderwhenthespark
plugisremoved.
2.Pullthesparkplugwiresoffofthesparkplugsand
removetheplugsfromthecylinderhead.
3.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatortoensure
thatthereisnodamage(Figure36).

Important:Acracked,fouled,dirty,or
malfunctioningsparkplugmustbereplaced.Do
notsand-blast,scrape,orcleantheelectrodesby
usingawirebrushbecausegritmayeventually
releasefromtheplugandfallintothecylinder.

4.Settheairgapbetweenthecenterandsideelectrodes
at0.030inch(0.762mm)(Figure36).
5.Installthecorrectlygappedsparkplugandtighten
theplugto18-22ft-lb(24-30N-m).Ifatorque
wrenchisnotused,tightentheplugrmly.
6.Installthesparkplugwires.
