3.8 Floppy Disk Test 3 Tests and Diagnostics
Subtest 01 Sequential read
This subtest performs a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) that continuously
reads all the tracks (track: 0 to 39/0 to 79) on a floppy disk.
The start track is specified at the start of the FDD test. Refer to 1. in this
section.
Subtest 02 Sequential read/write
This subtest continuously writes data pattern B5ADADh to all the tracks
(track: 0 to 39/0 to 79) on a floppy disk. The data is then read and compared
to the original data.
Subtest 03 Random address/data
This subtest writes random data to random addresses on all tracks (track: 0 to
39/0 to 79) on a floppy disk. The data is then read and compared to the
original data.
Subtest 04 Write specified address
This subtest writes the data specified by an operator to a place pointed by
track, head, and address.
Subtest 05 Read specified address
This subtest reads data from a place pointed by track, head, and address
specified by an operator.
