9.3 SLIDE OUT ROOM
(Certain Models only)
The Motorhome may be equipped with an
expandable slide out room to provide more living
area for the occupants.
9.3.1 SLIDE OUT ROOM OPERATION
Follow this procedure when using slide out room:
1. Ensure that Motorhome is properly levelled
and supported with stabilizing jacks.
IMPORTANT
If the unit is not properly levelled before
extending the room, the slide out mechanism
may bind and be damaged.
2. Note: The Slide out room is powered by a 12-
volt motor. Ensure that the batteries are fully
charged when operating the slide out controls.
3. Before operating slide out:
a. If this is the first time you are operating
the slide-out,review the instructions that
you received from your dealer at the time
of delivery.
b. Level the Motorhome following the
instructions in Section 9.2.
c. Make sure there is adequate space beside
your Motorhome for the slide-out room to
be extended.
d. Remove the travel locks from on top of the
slide room.
e. Check the interior of the slide-out to make
sure there are no obstructions on the floor
or leaning against the walls. Close all
cabinet doors.
Make very sure that everyone is standing
clear of the interior and exterior path of the
slide-out as you extend or retract it.
WARNING
Make sure travel locks are removed
before extending the slide-out.
Make sure travel locks are fastened
securely before moving the motorhome.
WARNING
4. To Extend the slide-out room:
Be sure that there are no obstructions inside or
outside the Motorhome that would prevent easy
operation.
a) Power Gear Slide control: Press and hold
the control switch until room is fully extended.
Make sure it is fully extended so that all
weather seals will be in their proper alignment.
Release the control switch when the room is
fully extended. NOTE: The system has an
internal lead sensing capability that stops the
motor when the slide-out is fully 'extended' or
'retracted'.
b) Liftco Slide control: Press and release the
control switch to extend it. It will stop and
switch off automatically when the room is fully
extended. Press and release the control switch
again to stop it, and again to move it the
opposite direction.
5. To Retract the slide-out room:
Be sure that there are no obstructions inside or
outside the Motorhome that would prevent easy
operation.
a) Power Gear Slide control: Press and hold
the control switch until the room is back in
place so that all weather seals will be in their
proper alignment. Release the control switch
when the room is fully retracted.
b) Liftco Slide control:
Press and release the
control switch to extend the slide-out. It will
stop and switch off automaticallywhen the room
is fully extended. Press and release the control
switch to retract the slide-out. It will stop and
switch off automatically when it is fully
retracted.
