11.3 SELECTING FUEL TYPES
Butane burns at a much higher temperature than
propane but will not change from a liquid to a gas at
temperatures below 32 degrees F or 0 degrees C.
Propane, on the other hand, burns at a lower
temperature and will continue to convert from a
liquid to a gas at temperatures as low as -40
degrees F or -40 degrees C.
LP dealers will normally handle only the type of gas
commonly used and suited to the climate in their
area. If you travel from a warmer part of the
country to a colder area you may want to check to
make sure you have the right type of LP gas.
11.4 LP TANK SYSTEM
The storage tank for the LP gas is mounted under-
neath the motorhome attached to the vehicle frame.
It is accessible only from outside the vehicle. The
tank valve is located near the top center of the tank
next to the regulator. Before opening the supply
valve, make sure all controls for the various appli-
ances are in the OFF or PILOT OFF position. This
is to prevent any LP gas from leaking into the
motorhome.
