11.Laythefabricflatallaroundthepilotchute
andfolditunderinwidefoldstothecenter.
Foldthetopandbottomfirst,thenthesides.Do
notallowthefoldsof
fabricfromthepilotchute
togetundertheopenflaps.Foldingthefabric,
ratherthanstuffingitbetweenthecoils,
increasespilotchutelaunchperformanceand
reducesthebulkofthepackedcontainer.
12.Threadthepull‐upcordthroughthereserve
bottomflap(Flap#3).Closeandsecure
withthe
temporarypin.
13.Threadthepull‐upcordthroughtheright‐
sideflap(Flap#4),thentheleftsideflap(Flap#5)inthatorder.Closeandsecurewiththetemporarypineachtime.
Ensurethepilotchutefoldsstayflatandneat.
NOTE
Fullycompressthespringtoseehowmuch
loop can be pulled through the top of the
pilotchute.Ifyoucanpullmorethan½to¾
inches(1.3cm–1.9cm)through,theloopis
too long. This would be the best time to
o
enthecontainerandshortentheloo
.
NOTE
Iftheforcenecessarytocloseflaps 4 and
5 seems excessive, the loop may be too
short.Useascaletodeterminehowmuch
forceisneededtoextractthepin;8lb(3.6
kg)to12lb(5.4kg)iscorrect.Ashortloop
canalsobendthereserveloopanchor.
