SNOW MELTING
(DIP set to Snow Melt)
The SYSTEMpro 311 can control a single zone snow melting
system. To provide the best control of the snow melting
system, control should be equipped with an optional Slab
Sensor (A3060072) and optional Universal Sensor (A3060071)
to measure slab return temperature. These can be purchased
separately or as part of the Snow Melt Enable Kit (A3040039).
NOTE: When operating in snow melt mode,
the Snow Melting/Mixing Reset DIP switch
must be set to Snow Melting position.
SLAB PROTECTION (∆T MAX) (See fig. a)
A mixing device is installed between snow melting slab and
boiler(s) to control rate at which heat is transferred to snow
melting system and to protect slab from thermal stress
damage. The control limits the rate at which heat is applied to
slab through ∆T MAX setting.
• ∆T (delta T) is the temperature difference between slab
supply temperature and slab return temperature
• The rate at which heat is applied to slab can be controlled
and thermal stresses in slab can be minimized by controlling
this temperature difference
• When slab is operating, control ensures slab supply
temperature does not exceed slab return temperature by
more than ∆T MAX setting
NOTE: When control is operating and actual ∆T is
near ∆T MAX, the Maximum pointer can be seen
when viewing the MIX ∆T item in the View Menu.
