X4 on the Adapter board.
In constructions M4 - M5, complete Adapter board has to be replaced in case
of failure in CT => Make sure resistor on the board complies with rating of the
unit, before the Adapter board will be installed in.
Check wire harnesses and connectors in current measuring circuit.
Compare reading of the TRMS current clamp meter (output current) to the
panel reading, while loading the drive.
Units in power range: CX4 and CXL4, 110 - 250 kW
CX5 and CXL5, 110 - 250 kW
Shunt resistors will be checked as above in PASSIVE CHECKING, but taking in
consideration alternations in type, resistance values and quantity of the
Adapter boards in constructions.
Refer values of the resistors to specification chart CX4ADAP.XLS and
CX6ADAP.XLS
In case of larger drives, safe procedure to power up the drive is to use
external adjustable power supply (see 5.4.2 Basic tool requirements).
To power up the drive under investigation, disconnect wire harness from
connector X8 on Power boards. Connect lead from (+) terminal of the external
power supply to connector X8-1 on the Power board and respectively (-)
terminal of the external power supply to negative bus of the drive. With new
power board (CB00042, CB00055) layout it is possible to disconnect DC+ from
main circuit by pulling jumper X22 off and connect external power supply to
“AMP” connector X21. Remove always jumper from each power board. With
this power board it is not required to disconnect X8 and X19! With all power
boards, the first way to connect external power supply is always working
regardless of version.
NOTE! It is important to disconnect wire harness (or jumper X22) from each
Power board. Otherwise DC bus will charge up trough not disconnected power
board! When circuit boards are powered, measure DC bus voltage that it is
zero!
This procedure provides control circuitry to be powered up in operation
without powering up the dc bus. Unpowered main circuit reduces risks to
destructive damages within inverter, if something is defected in control or
main circuitry.
