Monopolar Quick Setup Instructions
If you are familiar with the ForceTriad energy platform, you may follow this
abbreviated procedure to set up the system for monopolar surgery.
If you are not familiar with the ForceTriad energy platform, refer to the following
sections in this chapter for detailed instructions.
1. Plug the system power cord into the rear panel receptacle.
2. Plug the system power cord into a grounded power receptacle.
3. Turn on the energy platform and verify that the self-test is successfully
completed.
4. If using a footswitch, connect it to the monopolar footswitch receptacle on the
rear panel. This may require an adapter to connect a standard four-pin
monopolar footswitch.
5. Apply the patient return electrode to the patient and connect it to the patient
return electrode receptacle on the front panel.
6. Connect the instrument to the appropriate instrument receptacle on the front
panel.
7. Verify or change the mode and power settings.
