9 .1 Preparation for operation
9.1.1 Loading tape coil, feeding tape, setting guide height, setting infeed top bar.
Select the tape required for the job to be performed. Place the tape coil on the tape tray
(901) such that the tape unwinds off the tray in an anti-clockwise direction when viewed
from above. Place the top tape retainer (902) allowing a few millimetres for clearance.
It is usually preferred to make a disc (913) from particle board or mdf which fits inside the
inner coil diameter to loosely centralise the tape coil. This ensures the coil unwinds freely.
