Why is my Vertiv Liebert XDC Freezer room becoming too warm?

  If the room is becoming too warm, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure the Vertiv XDC is turned on via the user interface. If it is already on, check the room's temperature and relative humidity, and lower the RH setpoint if needed to decrease the dew point, setting it to 50% or lower at a normal room temperature of 68°F (20°C). Also, verify that the Liebert XD cooling modules are on. Another potential issue is the minimum room temperature setpoint being too high, so check the setpoint in the User Setpoints menu. Finally, make sure the temperature/humidity sensors are correctly placed on the return air side of the primary air mover, away from unsealed areas.

  If the pump/compressor of your Vertiv Freezer is not energizing, start by checking L1, L2, and L3 for the rated voltage to ensure there is main power. Next, check for and tighten any loose electrical connections. If those are fine, allow the pump to cool and check the amp draw in case overloads have tripped. Also, inspect the circuit breaker to the pump(s). Finally, consult the Checklist for Liebert XDC Startup on page 111 to verify correct phase wiring.

  To troubleshoot a Vertiv Freezer pump that won't run, first ensure all isolation valves on the pump suction and/or discharge are completely open. Next, verify that the Liebert XD cooling modules are turned on prior to starting the Liebert XDC. Check the alarm history on the Liebert XDC for low refrigerant temperature (high dew point), and if necessary, lower the humidity in the conditioned space to allow the Liebert XDC to operate at a lower temperature. Ensure the temperature-humidity sensors are correctly placed on the return air side of the primary air mover, away from unsealed doors or windows. Check the differential pressure settings of the pressure switch and manually adjust if not within 6 psi, ±1 psi (41 kPa, ±7kPa; 0.41 bars, ±0.07 bars).

  If your Liebert XDC (Pump) suddenly stops, it could be due to several reasons. Check the room's humidity and the location of the remote sensors, ensuring they are not in a cold area with poor airflow, which could indicate a low refrigerant temperature (high dew point). A loss of power could also be the cause; the Liebert XDC will automatically restart when power is restored. Additionally, a clogged filter/dryer or impeller could be the issue, so clean out any debris. Finally, a leak in the system causing a loss of charge could be the culprit; check the entire system for leaks and repair as necessary.

  To troubleshoot actuator motors, check for 24VAC power between P2-1 and P2-4. If there is no signal from the control, check for 24VAC at P22-1 (close) or P22-3 (open). If the motor is not operating, unplug P22 completely off of the board, then jumper P22-5 to P2-4 for grounding, and jumper P22-1 to P2-1 to drive close. Remove the jumper to stop closing, and then jumper P22-3 to P2-1 to drive open. If the motor still fails to work, replace it.
