Stone guard and
counter knife
Safety in connection with maintenance work on the cutterbar
When working on the cutterbar the tractor must be stopped and
secured.
This prevents the machine from suddenly starting to rotate.
If the tractor and the PTO shaft have not been connected in
accordance the instructions, serious accidents causing damage to
limbs can occur.
When working on the cutterbar:
• The tractor engine must be stopped.
• The ignition key must be removed.
• The PTO shaft must be disconnected.
• The tractor hydraulic system must be disconnected.
• The hand brake must be activated.

The stone guard and counter knife are changed as follows:
> Activate the tractor's lift arms and raise the machine completely
free of the ground.
• Check that the machine's first guard can move past the tractor's
rear right-hand wheel.
> Pull in the cord and release the lock catch.
> Hold in the string and activate the tractor's hydraulics and the
machine will be raised up to the transport position.
> Release the string once the cutting unit is raised approximately
halfway up.
> Check that the lock is locked when the cutting unit is in the
transport position.
> Release the pressure in the hydraulic system.
> Remove the worn stone guard and counter knife.
