4.19 Using
DC
Power
Overview
Prerequisites
The DC terminals (e) are to be used only for charging 12V batteries. Maximum
available power is
12V-8.3A
(100W).
WARNING
Risk
of
machine damage and electric shock.

Do not use
AC
power and DC power at the same time.
• Verify that the engine is operating.
• Verify that the voltage displayed on the LCD (j) is approximately 120V.
•
Verify that nothing is connected to the
AC
outlets.
• Make sure that the charging cables to be used are rated for 12V and the
maximum
CCA rating
of
the battery.
WARNING
Personal injury hazard. Battery acid is corrosive to metallic surfaces and harmful to
human skin.

Wear protective clothing, goggles and gloves when working near batteries.
lit>
If
battery acid contacts the skin
or
eyes, rinse immediately with clear water and
seek immediate medical attention.
WARNING
Explosion hazard. Explosive hydrogen gas is discharged through battery vent holes
during the charging process.

Do not use open flames
or
smoke near batteries.
lit>
Do not place metallic objects on or near the battery terminals. Metallic objects in
contact with both poles
of
the battery will generate extreme heat and potentially
ignite explosive battery gases.
Engine
switch
Leave the engine switch (h) in the RUN position while the generator is operating.
