Thenaturalgassupplypressuretothedryermustbebetween6and10incheswatercolumn.
Ifthepressureistoolow,ignitionfailureand/orslowdryingtimesmayresult.Excessivelyhigh
supplypressurewillresultinerraticoperationofthegasvalvesinternalpressureregulator.The
pressuremeasuredatthepressuretaponthebodyofthegasvalvemustbeforTYPE30:4.2-
incheswatercolumn,TYPE50:3.2-incheswatercolumnandTYPE75:3.2-incheswatercolumn
PropaneGas
Dryersmadeforusewithpropanegashavethegasvalvepressureregulatorblockedopen,so
thatthegaspressuremustberegulatedupstreamofthedryer.Thepressuremeasuredatthe
gasvalvebodypressuretapmustbe11incheswatercolumn.InaccordancewithAmericanGas
Association(AGA)standards,agaspressureregulator,wheninstalledindoors,mustbeequipped
withaventlimiteroraventlinemustbeinstalledfromthegaspressureregulatorventtothe
outdoors.Thewatercolumnpressuremustberegulatedatthesource(propanetank),oran
externalregulatormustbeaddedtoeachdryer.
Piping/Connections
Thedryerisprovidedwitha1/2”N.P .T.(themodelTYPE75hasa3/4”)inletpipeconnection
extendingouttherearareaorthroughthetopofthedryer.Foreaseofservicing,thegassupply
lineofeachdryershouldhaveitsownshut-offvalve.
Thesizeofthegassupplyline(header)willvarydependingonthedistancethissupplylinetravels
fromthegasmeteror,inthecaseofpropanegas,thesupplytank,thenumberoftees,other
gas-operatedappliances,etc.Specicinformationregardingsupplylinesizeshouldbedetermined
bythegassupplier.
NOTE:
Undersizedgassupplypipingcancreatealoworinconsistentgaspressure
whichwillresultinerraticoperationoftheburnerignitionsystem.
ConsistentgaspressureisessentialatALLgasconnections.Itisrecommendedthata3/4-
inchpipegasloopbeinstalledinthesupplylineservingthebankofdryers.Anin-linepressure
regulatormustbeinstalledinthegassupplyline(header)if(natural)gaslinepressureexceeds
12-incheswatercolumnpressure.
IMPORTANT:
WatercolumnpressureofTYPE:304.2-inches,TYPE:503.2-inchesandTYPE:
753.2-inchesfornaturalgasdryersand11.0inchesforPropanegasdryersis
requiredatthegasvalvepressuretapofeachdryerforproperandsafeoperation.
A1/8”N.P ,T.pluggedtap,accessiblefortestgaugeconnection,mustbeinstalledinthemaingas
supplylineimmediatelyupstreamofeachdryer.
IMPORTANT:
Pipejointcompoundsthatresisttheactionofnaturalgasandpropanegas
MUSTBEused.
WARNING:
TestALLconnectionsforleaksbybrushingonasoapywatersolution(liquid
detergentalsoworkswell).NEVERTESTFORGASLEAKSWITHANOPEN
FLAME.
ALLcomponents/materialsmustconformtoNATIONALFUELGASCODEspecications.Itis
importantthatgaspressureregulatorsmeetapplicablepressurerequirementsandthatgasmeters
areratedforthetotalamountofapplianceBTU’sbeingsupplied.
