To achieve this, we provide the tripod horizontal extension (WSNA0002). The
ber optic connection could also support in keeping the user farther from the
device. See accessories in Appendix 9.
Appendix 6. E-eld Measurement under Powerline
When measuring electric eld below a power line, it is advisable to place the
SMP2 in horizontal and and be separated from the unit with a tripod or a wood
stick or extension.
In high frequency measurements, placing the device horizontally will increase
the LF (low frequency) immunity and obtain more accurate results.
For low frequency electric eld measurements using the WP400 and WP50
probes, the body should not be close to the device. A person holding the
device during measurement would perturb the eld. It is therefore advised that
the user places the device at a horizontal position and stays away from the
device (1.5 m minimum, 3 m recommended as per IEC 62110) to obtain more
accurate (unperturbed) results.
