MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
With the nozzle and tube removed, inspect the tube for any blockages. Replace if required with
the spare tube in your kit. Inspect the nozzle also and clean as required with a 0.4mm drill bit,
holding it up to the light to ensure the 0.4mm hole is even and clear.
With the nozzle and PTFE tube cleaned and free from blockages, simply reinsert the tube in the
nozzle and then screw it back into the heat block.

9.6 Printer & Filament Storage
Always store your ModelMaker 3D Printer in a clean, dry location that is free from dust.
PLA laments are sensitive to moisture. If stored in a humid environment, the quality of the
lament can deteriorate, with a tendency to bubble and spurt from the nozzle tip. This will aect
print quality, so when storing PLA or other material for an extended period of time, follow these
tips:
• Store in a sealed, air tight bag/container. We recommend a vacuum seal bag
• Store with a silica gel (moisture absorber) pack. One is included with each lament spool
