21. Cascade operation
Fluesystemdesign
Balanceduerouting
Oil condensing boilers with a separate, concentric, balanced ue outlet (DN 80/125
or DN 110/160) above the roof, type C33x, may only be installed in attics, or in rooms
where the ceiling also forms the roof, or where only the roof construction is located
above the ceiling.
If the pipework for the combustion air supply and ue gas routing crosses different
oors in the building, route the pipes outside the boiler room inside a duct with a re
resistance of at least 90 minutes, and in living spaces of low height with a resistance
of at least 30 minutes.
Topreventuegasbeingdrawnbackthroughadjacentroofoutletswhere
severalueoutletsarearrangednexttoeachother,arrangetheoutletsat
approximatelythesameheightandwithatleast600mmbetweenthem.
The maximum permissible straight length for concentric balanced ue routing must
not exceed 16 m with an internal diameter DN 80/125, or 21 m with DN 110/160. The
calculated length of the balanced ue routing comprises the straight pipe length and
the length of the pipe bends. In this calculation, an 87° bend is calculated as being
1.5 m and a 45° bend as being 1 m.
Cascade control with separate, vertical, concentric balanced ue routing, type C33x.
